EL PASO, TEXAS – (November 7, 2006) – The U.S. Department of the Navy on behalf of the Marine Corps has awarded the fourth increment of the Camp Pendleton II & Quantico project to a joint venture which includes El Paso-based Hunt Building Company. The project includes the construction of 1,035 new housing units, demolition of 640 units, and the renovation of 2,171 units on the Marine Corp base at Camp Pendleton, San Diego.

The Phase 4 joint venture, Camp Pendleton II and Quantico Housing, LLC, is a limited-liability corporation which originally included Hunt Building Company, Lincoln Property Company, Dallas, Texas; and Clark Realty Builders, Bethesda, Maryland. The Phase 4 Pendleton projects will involve Hunt Building as the designer and builder of the housing units, with Lincoln Property managing the completed project for the Marine Corps.

The project cost is valued at $554 million and is expected to be completed in 48 months. With the projected costs of Phase 4, the total project cost of the Camp Pendleton II & Quantico project is approaching $1.5 billion.

The housing project at Camp Pendleton will provide Marine Corp personnel and their families with high-quality residential units comparable to those of the civilian market. In addition, the project will include four community centers, four club houses, a new housing office, eight swimming pools and 39 new play lots for young children.
